Local attractions Allhallows Museum The Museum is in the centre of Honiton and occupies the chancel of the 13th Century Chapel of Allhallows, a Grade II listed building. Over the centuries it was a chapel of ease for the townspeople, later used as a schoolroom and dining-hall and then on the expansion of Allhallows School it became the School Chapel. Along with the other schoolrooms adjoining the chancel it was purchased 50 years ago by the public subscription to fund the Museum. Allhallows Museum Society works to preserve the heritage of the people of Honiton and its surrounding district by collecting, caring and displaying articles which illustrate how our ancestors lived. ​ more info Thelma Hulbert Gallery The Thelma Hulbert Gallery can be found in Elmfield House, Dowell Street, just a short walk from the Tourist Information Office behind the long stay Lace Walk Car Park. It is the only public free admission art gallery in the region. The painter Thelma Hulbert made her home and studio at Elmfield House during the last ten years of her life, and it has subsequently become a successful contemporary art gallery (established 1998.) Thelma's work is on permanent display here, along with a changing exhibition programme of work by national, international and local contemporary artists. Elmfield House is grade II listed. More Info THE BEEHIVE COMMUNITY CENTRE The Beehive is a purpose built Community and Arts Centre which is also home to Honiton Town Council and other organisations. It has a 300 seat auditorium, changing rooms, function room, meeting rooms, Cafe & Bar, exhibition areas. Space is available to hire for activities, meetings conferences, wedding receptions, events and workshops. The Nissen Hut Heritage Centre Upottery The South West Airfields Heritage Trust seeks to preserve the heritage of the important airfields in the Blackdown Hills for future generations and to honour all the people who served there. From Upottery, 81 aircraft of the 439th TCG carried 'E' company (Band of Brothers) of the 505th PIR of the USA. 101st Airborne Division into Normandy on the night of 5th June 1944. A guided tour of the private airfield site can be arranged by appointment. Contact robin273@visithoniton.com for an agreed donation to the trust.

Wolford Chapel Dunkeswell - A piece of Ontario's Heritage John Graves Simcoe was the first Lieutenant - Governor of Upper Canada, now the province of Ontario on Canada. Wolford Chapel was built on the Simcoe estate in 1802. John Graves Simcoe, his wife Elizabeth and six of their 11 children are buried at the chapel. Open all year. Admission is free, but donations are gratefully accepted. More Info
